Play a vital role in ensuring the safety and quality of our products by keeping our production and packaging areas clean. The Sanitation Technician is responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment and facilities, following strict SSOP, HACCP, FDA, GMP, and company safety standards. This position ensures all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently, thoroughly, and on schedule—maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, compliance, and food safety across our manufacturing operation.

The Sanitation Team Lead oversees and supports the sanitation crew to ensure all tasks are completed according to the Master Sanitation Schedule. This position leads the cleaning and sanitizing of production areas and equipment efficiently and in full compliance with established Sanitation Procedures. This role also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying and assisting with corrective and preventive actions for sanitation-related non-conformances.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with SQF, OSHA, FDA, HACCP, EPA, and customer requirements.
• Train and monitor staff on SSOPs, GMPs, PPE, hygiene, and chemical safety.
• Respond to potential contamination or safety concerns and report issues promptly.
• Support and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Communicate and verify completion of daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks.
• Maintain current SDS access and proper chemical use.
• Perform and document cleaning, titrations, and environmental/allergen testing with corrective action as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Familiarity with machine safety inspections and setups for production runs.
• Manual machining skills and welding experience are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize projects.
• Must meet physical requirements, including the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
