Senior Quality Assurance Specialist | Second Shift

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our food manufacturing facility in Poughkeepsie, New York. As a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee quality control procedures and processes.

Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
– Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain quality control documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.
– Coordinate and provide training to employees on quality control procedures, product specifications, and food safety regulations.
– Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.
– Lead investigations into quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
– Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes to proactively implement best practices and maintain compliance.
– Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
– Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and providing necessary documentation and support.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
– In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality control principles, and industry best practices.
– Strong understanding of quality management systems, such as, SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
– Proven experience in delivering training programs, with excellent communication skills.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
– Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
– Proficient in using quality management software and tools.
– Certification in quality assurance or related field is a plus.
