We are looking for a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to troubleshoot failures in system programming and make necessary corrections.
- Support the Maintenance team with the management of inventory and replenishment of parts used in PM and wear parts.
- Support maintenance projects and timelines for successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
- Works directly with the Maintenance Manager and other mechanics to troubleshoot and repair equipment and infrastructure.
- Performs PM’s and lubrication as needed. Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. Follow Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Ensures plant machinery is operating at peak efficiency, repair equipment and perform various preventive maintenance operations.
- Complete requests for repairs and installations; establish time schedules that least interfere with production operations.
- Request maintenance materials and parts that are needed to ensure the maintenance of inventory updated by Maintenance Manager.
- Responsible for alerting the Maintenance Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur in the facility.
- Analyze requests and diagnose projects to determine nature and scope of project, as well as cause and corrective action required.
- Conduct Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and boiler operations checks.
- Coordinate building and grounds repair and maintenance, structural changes, and any other building and grounds maintenance related activities with production; prioritize projects.
- Analyze and evaluate building maintenance problems. Make recommendations to management on building and grounds improvements, needed repairs, new equipment, and plant layout.
- Ensure the completion and maintenance of all necessary paperwork, logs, reports and documentation
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are taken from line prior to start up, re clean, and /or re-startup from mechanical breakdown.
- Quickly responds to Production line calls so Production personnel know the status of their machinery and repairs.
- Troubleshoots and repairs Production department electrical equipment.
- Adjusts functional parts of machinery and control equipment to make them work more efficient.
- Inspects some used and new parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and to detect imperfections.
- Responsibilities include mechanical, plumbing, electrical and pneumatic systems, grounds and security.
- Efficiently tracks daily work and time spent on each job and correctly summarizes the time spent on each work category at day’s end.
- Communicates with production management regarding the status of repairs and completion of work orders.
- Supports production as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of PLC Programs. PLC Programming preferred
- Standing or walking 100% of the time and if the need arises must be able to work in a freezer.
- Must be able to carry, twist, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and stoop in conjunction with frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential functions.
- Ability to work productively with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
