The Sanitation Team Lead oversees and supports the sanitation crew to ensure all tasks are completed according to the Master Sanitation Schedule. This position leads the cleaning and sanitizing of production areas and equipment efficiently and in full compliance with established Sanitation Procedures. This role also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying and assisting with corrective and preventive actions for sanitation-related non-conformances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with SQF, OSHA, FDA, HACCP, EPA, and customer requirements.
  • Train and monitor staff on SSOPs, GMPs, PPE, hygiene, and chemical safety.
  • Respond to potential contamination or safety concerns and report issues promptly.
  • Support and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Communicate and verify completion of daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks.
  • Maintain current SDS access and proper chemical use.
  • Perform and document cleaning, titrations, and environmental/allergen testing with corrective action as needed.
